About us.
Because a good beginning makes the difference.
MaPo Kids was founded in January 2011 in Tequisquiapan, Querétaro, with the aim of providing cutting-edge tools in stimulation for children under 4 years of age in that geographic area. It started out with just the early stimulation service, and after 3 months of work it already had the comprehensive stimulation service, which was born more out of necessity than something that had been planned. It has been the service that has helped MaPo to become a base for growth.
It should be noted that in the area it was considered that only children with birth defects or problems during their development were the only ones who required stimulation services; it took several years to get people to understand that this service is also very important for children with an expected development. It was thanks to the second year of MaPo's life that several of its graduates from the global stimulation program began to enter the schools in the area, the schools began to look at what was being done and even began to recommend the services for children under 3 years old who came to ask them for information.
After 4 years, a branch was opened in San Juan del Rio, and the year after that, it was necessary to expand the Tequisquiapan branch. A year after that, it was necessary to expand the San Juan del Rio branch and the following year it was necessary to move the Tequisquiapan branch to a much larger location.
Due to family health issues, development was halted, especially in the San Juan del Rio area, and expansion plans in Ezequiel Montes were temporarily halted. It was not until 2018 that the new branch in Ezequiel Montes was opened, and in 2019 the foundation was launched, which supports 33% of the cost of scholarships awarded to low-income people.
Since it was not until 2019 that the development of San Juan del Rio was resumed, it required support from the Tequisquiapan branch to be able to meet its expenses, when the pandemic began and 60% of the families who were enrolled in Tequisquiapan dropped out, we made the decision to close the San Juan del Río branch and concentrate all resources and efforts on the Tequisquiapan and Ezequiel Montes branches.
During the pandemic, it was necessary to make some adjustments. We closed the San Juan del Rio branch, but we opened our online services and in Tequisquiapan we had two new addresses to be able to serve different groups safely.
